From March 17 to 20, 2025, the 23rd Computational Fluids Conference (CFC) of the International Association of Computational Mechanics (IACM) was held in Latin America for the first time – and we were part of it!

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Max Marian presented exciting research in Santiago de Chile on the combined influence of surface texturing and electro-rheological lubricants on the tribological behavior of hybrid spherical journal bearings. This work integrates numerical fluid mechanics with tribological optimization strategies – a crucial step toward sustainable and high-performance bearing technologies.

The interdisciplinary exchange with leading experts in fluid simulation, AI-driven modeling methods, and fluid-structure interactions once again demonstrated how innovative simulation approaches can revolutionize the design of tribomechanical systems.
